ReplyDeleteHiiiiii
ReplyDeleteHello all! Not sure how formal these comments ought to be but I'll keep it casual for now.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to mention that I may not have my textbooks by Monday so there's a possibility I'll be a little behind. That said I've done a little reading on care ethics in the meantime so I figured I'd share some of the rudimentary details I've picked up!
From what I've gathered care ethics are an approach to interpersonal relationships that prioritize the needs and feelings of the individual(s) over a strict set of rules on how to handle each situation two or more people may find themselves in. I've seen a bit of commentary referring to it as being at least feminist adjacent in the sense that it runs counter to all lot of the standards present in the societal idea of what a relationship looks like.
I wouldn't like to get a head of myself but I must say that this sort of strikes me as just the reasonable healthy way to approach relationships as I understand them. It is far more efficient to work through problems together when you are actively considering other's feelings after all! :)
